All doctors are members of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, BC Society of Orthodontists, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. Teamwork:To help create your new smile, we work hard not only in our office, but in conjunction with your general dentist. We strive to ensure quality orthodontic care, and in order to accomplish this, we work closely with other oral health care specialists. Most importantly is your general dentist, and in certain situations, we also work with periodontists (gum specialists) and oral surgeons. The doctors and the staff attend numerous education programs each year in order to stay current with advances in the field of orthodontics. The doctors also form the Pacific Alliance of Dental Specialties (PADS) which is an annual continuing education lecture series we provide for general dentists and their staff. The Patient Manager System:This management system means that once you start treatment you are assigned your own personal assistant. For your entire treatment we make every effort to schedule you with your assistant. This system allows us to establish a relationship with our patients and take full advantage of our strongest asset - our outstanding clinical staff. The system also allows better monitoring of the patient's progress. As Dr. Sonya & Dr. Hoglund guide you through treatment, the assigned assistant can provide valuable information about your progress and challenges. As a result, our patients tend to complete treatment on time more often and with better results.We Are on Time:We recognize that your time is valuable and we respect that by staying on time for your appointments. Drs. Sonya, Hoglund, and Nagamatsu are uniquely qualified orthodontists. After graduating from our respective dental schools, all three of us have practiced general dentistry for a combined 20 years. We then returned to university to study an additional three years each to become certified specialists, solely in the field of orthodontics.|
